Hello people.
Sorry it's been a while since you've all heard from me, but hey, here's the latest on what myself, the cast and the crew have been getting up to.
We left Byron Bay on Saturday and had a pretty smooth journey down into surfers by where we collected by an incredibly loose family connection of Gerards... He'd never met them and knew nothing about them!
Basically, to cut a long story short. We're now in a place called surfers paradise and staying with a family out here, nice to have proper food and a bed for a bit. We went out the first night we arrived and ended up buying a pass for free entry into all clubs and bars in Byron for $50 along with numerous other discounts that it offered, the first one of which was 2 hours unlimited free bar at one of the clubs. We tagged along to a club crawl for the early part of the evening and then wound up at the worlds worst bar for this free drinks business. Which, however, in reality turned out to be the worlds biggest con. Every drink, out of the limited ones we were allowed, contained the worlds smallest percentage of alcohol combined with the world largest quantity of mixer. Not great. So after nearly 20 drinks each - I couldn't have felt less drunk so yeah, not a great result.
Since then, we've yet again been conned. We thought it would be a great idea to go to 'Wet n Wild', a waterpark, of which... Is meant to be great... Which, it wasn't. We arrived there to be told that most rides were broken and even though it was only a Monday it was rammed full of brattish little kangaroo hoping Aussie kids who just wined and talked about being crap at rugby and cricket or something. So, in an awful mood... We went straight to the head office to kick off a fuss. Eventually, through scaring the lady behind the desk, we managed to get a whole load of free tickets, each of which is worth $50... So, the plan is to sell them on and spend that money on beer.
Aside from that - having a great time here in surfers and the waves are sick. Too strong to surf so we'e just been thrown up and over by the waves at least twice my height. Scary stuff.
Oh, and we saw a stingray... Twice. So, fingers crossed i won't be joining steve irwin.
More beach time tomorrow and a club crawl starting at 5pm. How early.
Peace

Dad Perhaps you are better off jumping out of aeroplanes and surfing the giant rollers than taking on the Aussie schoolkids in a run down waterpark! Glad you managed to get some sort of refund. Peace and parcels Love Dad x
