Hello!!
Hope you're all well!
So a big group of us last night took full advantage of the free unlimited sangria night that our hostel had to offer! Combining that with then heading out to the clubs that By has to offer we all had an awesome night! Finally got into bed at around 4 i think... with the intention to wake up at half 6 to get ready to throw myself out a plane... it's safe to say 2.5 hours sleep was never going to happen.
So... at half 7, 15 minuets after our bus was meant to leave, i had Georgia, another english girl, smacking on my door trying to wake me up... which worked, and thirty seconds later i was sitting in the bus signing my life away... oh god.
Arrived a few minutes later at the skydive centre, hit up www.skydivebyronbay.com if you fancy seeing it for yourself... After trying my very hardest to remove all alcohol still inside me through gallons after gallons of water i got suited up and taught how not to die...
Next thing i knew is a man called Richard, a saint with over 15,000 sky-dives to his name told me what to do and myself, georgia and the other people jumped into a little plane and zoomed into the Aussie sky...
First thing i noticed however... a SHARK... my instructor pointed it out the window and sure enough there was a massive shark underneath us in the ocean... right by the beach. Great... and promising incase we crashed into the sea... we'd get eaten alive. Cool.
So eventually at hitting 14,000ft i got shoved onto the edge of the plane... anb slid out and i can easily say that the next 5 minuets of my life where the best that i've ever expirienced. Hands down. Tumbling through the sky, on a clear day, seeing for miles and miles and travelling at 200kmh, for 80 seconds... pretty awesome!! Richard then thaught he'd be the funny guy and tell me that the parachute was broken... and wouldn't open... i, gullably, believed him and swore a lot... he then, minuets later, after deliberately scaring the s*** out of me told me he was joking... panic over.
Parachute open - i got to steer it, just like kitesurfing!!
Best expirience of my life.
Oh, and im gonna do that as a job... 500 aus dollars a day...
What more do you want from life!

Dad Well done Tom we are all proud of you. Good joke about the chute not opening, I'm sure you were able to appreciate his humour! I suppose if you had plummeted into the sea then that shark could have had you for lunch. Love Dad xx
