Wordy People Hello.
It's been an incredibly long time since anyone has had any confirmation that I am still alive... So, the good news? I'm here.
Okay so from what I can remember my last blog update was after my day of kangaroos and Aussie zoo, which means Brisbane...which also therefore means that I've done loads since... So get ready to read.
Right:
Noosa - Ben and I headed up there on the 21st to join the likes of Ben 2 and Gerard. The day started off well when we weren't allowed are bus because of what we were wearing, tank tops.. Which is the most ridiculous thing ever considering every traveller wears them... So, after striping on the bus in front of a lot of people, we battled out the 2 hour bus ride.
I'm just going to summarise Noosa as quick as I can as really, it wasn't the most happening place so yeah... Hey ho. The first day we got there was a very typical australian day and sat and chilled on the beach which was awesome. The waves were great and no one got attacked by anything dangerous. I think the one highlight of that day was definitely discovering a beach bar that sold 'Chang' which - if you're a big blog follower of me... You'll remember is the worlds greatest beer. Beach and drink. Win.
Day 2... This was the day where Ben and I spent hours on random public busses trying to find the greyhound bus depot so that we could collect the fools phone that he decided to leave behind in Brissy.
So that day was pretty average until we hit the supermarket, purchased a lot of meat, lot of beer, and hit up the riverside bbq which was absolutely cracking. (thought id change from using 'awesome')
So... Noosa done - we then headed up to where I am currently, Hervey Bay. We were all pretty psyched for getting here as it's hervey bay where are Fraser island and Whitsundays tour kicks off. Hell yeah.
We got to the hostel here late Friday evening and dived straight into our briefing for Fraser Island. For those of you that don't know....
Fraser Island is the largest Sand Island in the world with a hell of a lot of lakes. Due to the fact there's a ridiculous amount of sand there are a ridiculous amount of Sting Rays and therefore, a load of sharks. In fact, one of the highest populated areas of shark infested waters in the world. They prey on the stingers and therefore have a field day there, so it's law that you're not allowed to Swim there, as in all honestly, you probably wouldn't return.
Back to the blog - we got spilt up into our groups for Fraser during the meeting and because none of us are 21 we had to go in the guides 4X4 aka we werent old enough to drive, boo. But on the plus side... It meant myself and the three musketeers along with Fred and Phill the two Danish dudes just got very drunk all day. Win.
We woke up at 6am the following morning in our hostel, loaded up the trucks and headed out for a weekend of camping. In all honesty it was the best weekend ever, so much fun. We got briefest on how to avoid Dingo's by Tony the guide and that basically consisted of 'standing tall and shouting', which, when hammered, is pretty funny. But dingos are a hell of a lot more dangerous than I thought. Loads of people take bites from the scary things!
We spent the first day on Fraser chilling round loads of lakes and jumping down massive sand dunes into lakes, shark free lakes, phew.
The evening was the best part... As you'd expect on a camping weekend there was a dangerous amount of alcohol and Ben L and Gerard definitely made fools of themselves. I was so happy to see sick all over my sleeping bag and clothes from them both when I returned to my tent. Yum. So, with them passed out... I went and crashed in the safety of the girls tent next door.
After a lot of shouting at them both come the following morning we headed out to more lakes and other awesome stuff. The next night wasn't as messy but one of the girls took the liberty of repeating ben and gerards actions which meant, they moved into our tent. So. What have I learnt?! That alcohol is stupid and ruins people! But hey!!
Left Fraser last night and returned back to the hostel. We're leaving tonight and jumping on a 12 hour journey up to Airlie Beach where we're going to be having our 2 days 2 night days on a 30 person trimaran (booze cruise) on the whitsundays, can't wait.
So, that's all folks.
Hope you're kicking.

Dad Ah the perils of drink, I trust you didn't need to call up huey yourself!!! Fraser Island sounds fab. Hope you sort out your disrupted travel plans, it seems the Bruce Highway is frequently flooded and I guess there are better spots to get stuck than Mackay! Koh Samui is flooded at the moment too. Still I'm sure the Whitsundays and Cairns will be worth it once you finally make it. xx
