After a torturous 5 hour bus ride to Phnom Penh where I managed to catch about an hours sleep, I decided not to let my lam of sleep inhibit my adventure & went off exploring this magical city once again.
Mel, Benn & I wandered in search of food & managed to settle on a very local little corner restaurant (using the term restaurant loosely!) & tucked into some of the cheapest & tastiest good you can imagine. Mel & I decided to head to the markets for a browse & to make the most of our bargaining skills. We made some very good purchases (if I do say so myself, but am still being very self controlled I believe!)...
That afternoon the 3 of us met at 5pm to go on a Cyclo tour of the City. Upon my arrival downstairs, Mel & Benn told me that they discovered stuff missing from their bags after today's earlier public bus ride & that they needed to go to the Police Station to make a report for Insurance purposes. So off I went on Cyclo Tour on my own with a 70+ yr old man who spoke very little English. Omg, what an experience. We were in peak traffic, with lots of scooters EVERYWHERE! Hectic. The city is pretty amazing though & I saw some incredible sights as I was peddled along by a man who really shouldn't be responsible for pushing me around in heavy traffic.. Oh well.
After that I met the group for dinner, where I ate a few bits before truly hitting the wall & retreating to my bed for the night. I did a fair bit hungover & on an hours sleep, but I really hit a wall & needed to sleep.
The next morning we boarded a public bus once again & spent the next 8.5 hours traveling 240ks to cross the boarder to Vietnam & go to Ho Chi Min City (aka: Siagon)..
