The night in the hostal was interesting as one of the guys was a very loud snorer and got up at 5am! :(
We left at 8am and stopped to look at the London Bridge and the bay of martyrs which was pretty stunning (almost more so than the 12 apostles!)
We spent 10 hours driving approx 700km. The first section Garth drove and was sparse and dry. The second section I drove and was surrounded by bush. I saw 11 huge dead kangaroos which made me sad, so I drive carefully!
We stopped fir lunch at this random rest point and Garth drove the next section while I snoozed.
I drove the last bit into Adelaide, which on first impressions looks very nice indeed! The streets are very clean and lined with trees!
We found Darren and Natasha's house easily (thanks to Ivor's sat nav) and net Anna (6yrs), Ethan and Jono (twins 8yrs) who are lovely and very good looking! Anna was quick to show me her pet house rabbit Nugget who was very sweet and tolerated a lot of being dressed up and picked up!
We ate a lovely dinner when Darren got home and it was great to meet the first family members of the Taljaard side of the family! The combo of the long drive and the excitement of being called Aunty Ruth for the first time made me very tided and I had an early night.
Anna has kindly given up her room for us, whiles she shares with her two brothers! It's funny seeing Garth sleeping in a pink fairy cupcake duvet and crazy to think that these great kids are my niece/nephews and might one day be my kids cousins!!!!!!
