Our last day on the island. Garth took a migraine pill in the night so he took it easy. I swapped my Agatha book for a new one called The Rapture of Cannan, which I was dubious about but I actually really enjoyed and spent the whole day reading. I got past page 200 which is a huge record for me!!!
I didn't swim the reef today as the waves were big and Garth said the unsettled water made visibility hard. We did see thousands of Sardines fish jump out of the water as the Barracuda hunted them!
We are lunch with a very good looking couple called Tim and Brandy who ate Canadian but have lived in Hong Kong for 12 years and they invited us to look them up when we visit hong Kong!
I enjoyed a Long Island Iced Tea cocktail at sunset with my lovely husband!
That evening was the quiz and we sat with the British family and the sailing guy and his girlfriend which made a team of 8. There were 4 rounds: Fijian knowledge, General, Music and a talent round. We lost the first round (which was unlucky because Sue grew up in Fiji and Tommy had lived there for the last few months) but we drew the second round with another team. So to settle who won that round there was a dance off. Chris (the dad in the fame who is also a Chaplin and deputy head at a Suffolk boarding school) was swiftly chosen and did a great job dancing to beyond against this you he mum from the other team. It was hillarious! Very much like Mr Beans dancing! We won a bottle of champaign for the table which was nice!
For the talent round Chris and the sailer guy came in through the side door trotting and playing coconuts (which was very nuts) I then played Joni Mitchell Big Yellow Taxi whilst they danced around me and joined in with the shoooo babababa's. We even broke it down in the middle and chris danced again! Oh the shame!!!
The other group who we danced against before reenacted the lion king with a little dance at the end aided by their kids. The last group was a mix of sweet Chinese girls and 3 Irish guys ago did an action aided version of singing in the rain, and the 3 judges (the chef and two male staff members dressed as ladies) have all three teams the same points! So the other team won a Champaign breakfast on the beach! :(
What a crazy fun last night!
