G'day mate!
The new KILROY girl is here. This time from.... FINLAND again!!
Arrived about a month ago and have had plenty of time to take in the city. I <3 Sydney! There's heaps to do, see and experience! And sooo easy to get around the city area.
Did you know that there is a FREE shuttle in the city?! That's right, the CBD shuttle (bus 555) will get you around the city for shopping, business or to connect with other transport. The shuttle operates every 10 minutes in both directions between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays (until 9pm on Thursday nights for late night shopping) and between 9.30am and 6pm on weekends. Perfect - why don't they have a free shuttle in every major city in the world?!
So what's been happening in Sydney for the past month?
We'll the biggest thing here for the past month was definately the Mardi Gras. Two whole weeks full of events like drag racing, gay life guard competitions and beach parties. The Mardi Gras parade the last night after two weeks was crazy and people were dressed up in all kinds of colorful and glittery costumes. It was like a big carnival and partying on the streets! Very crowded streets, but so much fun!
A very nice thing that is organized in Sydney in the summer/autumn months (December - March) is the Moonlight Cinema. This outdoor cinema at Centennial Park show both new releases and old ones. It costs only 18 AUD and you can bring your own snacks, sushi or even wine and have your own little picnic while watching the movie. L-O-V-E I-T!
Also a nice thing to do is to do the coastal beach walk from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach, or vice versa. Very pretty - check out the pictures!
On Friday I'm going to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb in the evening! It's not cheap, 188 AUD - but people who have done it say it totally worth the money! You walk/climb up to the summit of the bridge and the views over the city are spectacular! I'm so excited!
