Hey hey hey!
Flew over to Melbourne over the weekend and completely fell in love with the city. Small quirky shops and small cafees, great shopping and overall a great vibe in the city.
Over here there is free transport in the city center with tram no.35! These old cute trams are slow, but quite charming. They do a loop around the city center and it's a great way to see the city.
Spent the whole of Saturday just walking around the city, catching trams here and there and just taking it easy… Good fun! The Melbourne Comedy Festival is going on at the moment so I went to see some stand-up in the evening. I can't remember when I've laughed so hard, haha!
I wish I would have had more time - would have liked to do a tour for a few days along the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide… But only had one whole day to spare, so I booked the 1 Day Great Ocean Road tour with Adventure Tours Australia (can be booked through KILROY). It turned out to be a great idea - such an AWSOME tour! Really a lot of driving and stuff to take in such a short time, but it was totally worth it!
We got picked up at our Nomads Industry hostel 7 a.m Sunday morning and left Melbourne…We passed through the coastal town of Torquay, stopped for morning tea at Bells Beach, famous for its impressive surf. We stopped along the coast lots of times to take photos and at one spot we saw lots of wild koalas in the trees and cute and colourful birds. We quickly visited the seaside town of Apollo Bay for lunch (which was included) and walked along the beautiful beach there. Then we walked around for a bit in the rainforest at Otway National Park and after that drove over to see the beautiful Twelve Apostles and London Bridge. On the way back to Melbourne we caught a glimpse of a gorgeous rainbow… We were back in Melbourne around 9 p.m. AWESOME DAY!
