This morning started off awful. I do not ever ever recommend drinking right before a 9 hour boat trip with wind expected. After getting home at about 3.30/4.30am or so I went straight to sleep until about 8 am when I woke up to the whole room rocking from side to side,it was terrible. The boat is top heavy and were going across the wind so it really threw us about, our tour guide said it wasn't that bad but I think most people felt a bit green.
So I was lying in bed wanting to die due to feeling so sick, when thankfully the boat stopped for a swim break not long after I woke up. The water definitely refreshed me and after breakie and putting some food in my belly I felt alot better. Our tour guide handed out some sea sickness tablets which may have helped as well.
Finally not 9 but at least 10 hrs later we arrived at amorgos. It was really beautiful scenery. We had a quick feed before we hired motor bike to explore the island, all the boys had ridden motor bikes before except Joel who I was doubling with in retrospect id had more experience then him but I put my faith in him that he wouldn't crash and off we went. We headed in the way our tour guide had suggested. She'd recommend going to see deep blue that had featured in the movie The deep blue for anyone that has seen it. The area was breath taking all the way along the sea it met big rocky cliffs and the water was so blue.
Next we visited a monastery tucked away and built into the rocky cliffs it was amazing. We had to climb up lots of steps to get there I can't remember exactly how many but it was alot! There was a monk inside that said the monks that had made the monastery had come from another country I couldn't understand what he said I think it was middle eastern though and that the monastery was placed on the cliffs because it reminded them of the same scenery at home, or something along those lines.
After the monastery it was getting late and we had a toga party to get to do we did a little more exploring then we all headed back to the boat.
Stripping our beds of their white sheets we made makeshift togas. After dinner
our tour guide Kyriaki showed us some traditional Greek dancing and got us all to have a go. The Zorba is crazy it gets so fast we were all laughing so hard trying to keep up. I was exhausted so after our dance lesson I headed to bed ready for santorini the next day.
Over and out xx
