Another day of transit today as I was off to Croatia!
Unfortunately I'd booked my self in for a big day of travel as I had to fly from Madrid to brussels to Berlin to then fly to Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Id discovered just before my Spain trip a discrepancy in my accommodation for my night in dubrovnik and that it had been booked by my travel agent for the next night when I'd already be on the boat. My fault also for not picking up on it when I'd confirmed all the details but now I was stuck without accommodation as they had no availabilites for the night I needed. I'd asked dad to book me in somewhere but then he booked something in Dubrovnik for when I'd be in split so i was stuck till my tour guide the night before heard what was going on and said she knew a Canadian who owned a hostel in the old town and could hook me up with accommodation. Thankfully I was set.
When I finally did arrive in Dubrovnik it was late and about 8pm and then by the time I caught the bus from the airport to pilè gate which was the entrance to the old town it was even later. There are no cars allowed to drive in the old town so everyone Is on four which meant joyfully lugging my suitcase around and up a million stairs. It was a lovely place to walk in though big stone walls surround the city and stone pavement and with no cars it made it very old style and untouched.
I finally found the hostel and just when I though I couldn't hate all the steps of the old town anymore,I got directed to stay with a lady about 200m away from the hostel which meant up some more steps and down some.
After ducking back into the hostel for some wifi,I grabbed a takeaway pizza and took it back to my room to eat in bed. Heaven! And then I put on my pjs and had a well deserved sleep ready to start my Croatia sailing your tomorrow.
