Well we are finally here in Canmore we are staying at the Solara Resort and spa we have got a 3 bedroom unit which is well fitted out with everything that we need we are all sharing this unit and we have king size beds which is great not much room in a queen. On the way from Jasper we have seen a lot of spectacula sights including a fantastic waterfall on the side of the road we stopped of at a little diner and had breakfast which we all declared that would do till tea tonight as We have been invited out for a barbecue at Dennis and Val's Karens friends we had a lovely evening with first class food. This morning we jumped in the car and went to Lake Emerald what can I say breathtaking. We have stopped at to many places to remember all of the names I have never taken so many photos in my life we played cards and relaxed this evening. Today we went out to check out the opposite direction and we watched the spiral train which basically is train tracks built through Cathedral Mountain with tunnel into two spirals to avoid steep climbs. When the trains go under the tunnels you can see them at the other end and it looks like they are going back on themselves. We also went to Moraine Lake parking was difficult as it was really busy but it was worth it in the end Chris went rock climbing at the side of the lake we decided to give that a miss. Day 3 and Chris is going out bike riding with Dennis so we are going to relax and do nothing I did some washing and ironing we sorted out what we are sending back and I slept I think we were all tired but we have not stopped since we left Australia 26/8/2012 we walked into town for dinner and watched Canmore oldest famous residents (rabbits) on the sides of the roads they look just like pets all different colors the story about them goes in 1911 when some influential people moved into town and started to build some houses one of them complained as his neighbor was breeding pet rabbits so after a while he decided to release all the rabbits into the wild. We enjoyed our dinner and had a leisurely stroll back. Day 4 found us packing 2 boxes to send back we sent the shoes and the bits that John won on the boat we sent clothes and all the things that we don't need as John and I are going on to the UK after we leave Canada so no doubt we will buy more stuff. Boxes dropped of and we went into Banff which is a pretty town we walked around the shops and did some shopping John bought his self a Huge lens for his new camera and a camera bag we went to a Irish pub for lunch were we tried stuffed Yorkshire puddings which are small puddings with sliced roast beef and horseradish sauce and served with gravy they where delicious. I also tried liver and onions Chris had steak and Guiness pie to see if it was as good as the one in Whistler verdict Whistler won by a slight margin. After lunch we went for a drive around we had champagne cocktail at the Fairmont Banff Springs which was lovely but the cocktails were expensive $25 each plus taxes only $16 at lake louise good job we only had one each. We went to Minnewanker Loop which started of as a small town next to the lake then the powers that be decided to increase the size of the lake and flooded the town you can do diving in the lake to check the town remains out it is a very pretty lake. After we got home and we relaxed had showers the boys declared that they were peckish so we walked back into town and went to the Georgetown Inn I just had a starter could not fit anymore food in John proceeded to eat curry and rice then had sweets as well Chris at a lge stuffed Yorkshire as well as sweets Karen just had curry and rice we walked back to the unit and just watched tv and had a drink we are leaving early in the morning to go to Kelowna.
