Hi, today was a packed day. We started off by going to the Summer Palace. This is where the Emperors of the Qin and Ming dynasties lived during the summer. It was a beautiful locations. We took pictures with a lot of the locals. There were a lot of older people there, who we found out don't like their picture taken very much. This is because they believe that if you take a picture of them they don't live as long, because part of their soul leaves their body and jumps on the picture. They believe this shortens their life. After the Summer Palace, we went to the Olympic Village. We saw the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube. They both looked much bigger in person. There were many vendors trying to sell leftover souveniers from the Olympics. Next, we went and had lunch. I've eaten more green vegetables and Chinese food in the last five days, then I have in the last year. We had soup, and the bowls were as big as a small teacup. You should have seen my dad trying to fit the bok choy from the soup in the bowl. I made him take a picture of it.
From there, we went to the airport and flew to Xi'an Shi. We just stuffed ourselves with a buffet at 10:00 at night, and we have to be downstairs for breakfast by 8:00. I'll let you know what tomorrow's endeavors bring. We are hoping to bike along Xi'an's city wall. It is the only fully complete ancient city wall left in all of China. The top is wide enough for three cars to drive side by side, buy no cars are allowed. Thanks for reading! Zai Jian (Goodbye)
