Well Heathrow was a breeze much less stressful than Birmingham airport believe it or not. Flight was good, 7 hours long so not too bad I think its after 7-8 hours that a journey becomes traumatic.
We landed at our time 4.50am which was 9.50 Dehli time. The heat hit immediately but I did smile when I looked up and the skies were blue and no clouds. We were meant to be picked up by our hotel but as I thought no one turned up so we got a taxi. As we drove from the airport towards the central, I thought 'this isn't at all what I expected, lovely greenery and traffic didn't seem that bad - just with the occasional hoot'. As we got nearer the centre the traffic became more hectic, the hoots got louder and more frequent, then just became consistant, then all of a sudden the roads just did not only include cars but tuk tuks, people walking in the middle of the road, bicycles and cows.
We got to the hotel and Darren felt over welmed. I felt fine at that point had a shower and then it hit me. It was time for a sleep. We have already been stopped and talked into all sorts of travel itineries with travel agents, tuk tuk drivers or taxi drivers and it already feels overwelming. We intend to visit the old city tomorrow then head off to Agra.
I will take some photos tomorrow and up load these with an update on the Red Fort!!!
