I never want to see desert landscape again. Ever. After ten hours of STRAIGHT desert driving (and some pretty shady looking small towns with a lot of dentistry issues) we reached VEGAS!!! I was just in shock when I saw it, it is NUTS! We stayed in the Luxor hotel which is shaped like a pyramid. The first day we got there it was super hot and we made the mistake of going out and about to see the sights. It was just too hot though and we were both fading quickly. The next day though, it was overcast so it was the perfect opportunity to do the sightseeing. We went down to Freemont Street (the old Las Vegas) and wandered round the hotels on the strip. It was a good day.
That evening we went for dinner and wandered around some more. There is so much to see!!!
The next day we chilled out by the pool, well, I did, Craig lasted all of an hour (a drastic improvement from any sunbathing I have seen him do in Calgary). Met some interesting people, and tried to get a tan. It was HOT.
That night we saw one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, in fact, probably the most amazing thing. We went to see the Cirque Du Soleil show, O. It was unbelievable and I am not even going to try to describe it in words because I would fail miserably. Basically it is a circus/acrobatic type show, but it is all done in water. It was soooo beautiful!
We made some new friends in Vegas, a group of Swedish Girls and we plan on meeting up with them in San Diego which will be fun.
I saw some interesting things in vegas....ladyboys, a woman with HUMUNGOUS boobies just chillin with some nipple tassels on, Michael Jackson....the list goes on. I also found it hilarious that it is by far easier to buy alcoholic slush puppies than it is to buy water. NUTS.
I enjoyed my time in Vegas.....but it was time to leave!
