Well! We're on the road! We left Calgary at 9am this morning and arrived in Kalispell, Montana, at around 4.30.
So......here's how it went!
We drove down to the border and other than a small (hour long) panic about health insurance it all went well. When we got to the border we couldn't believe the que as the roads had been fairly quiet. Anyway, we qued and it was fine. However, the forms I had filled out before leaving weren't the right ones and so we had to go into the border control office! It was all okay though :)
We then set off to St Mary's, a cute little town, where we stopped for coffee. It was honestly like something off the telly!
The glacier national park is one of the top sights to see in Montana and luckily, we planned on driving right through it! There is a highway that runs up the side of the mountain and it is has unbelievable scenery. It's called the highway to the sun. We started off and it didn't seem so scary, but then we got higher up the mountain and the roads were SOOO tight! On one side you had mountain, on the other, a sheer drop!!! The views were really beautiful though. You can see them in my pictures.
We then came out of the park and drive down towards kalispell. Again, the towns we passed were sooo cute!! Rosemary would have loved it!! The scenery is beautiful too!
We reached kalispell and couldn't soo laughing, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere! We went out for dinner to a Mexican.......YUCK!!!!! Had an ice cream.....DELISH! (I had roasted peanut and salted caramel) and then went to a movie. Turns out going to a movie in the USA is the same as going to one in Canada and Scotland.....in fact, I think Scotland might actually be cooler!!!
