San Diego, possibly my favourite place in the world, after Lewis of course!
A few minor blips...sunburn, a crappy hostel, getting locked out of the crappy hostel, sunburn....oh wait, I repeated myself. So really, not much wrong with San Diego!!!
We arrived at our hostel and after MUCH deliberation, decided we just had to suck it up and stop being woosies. It was fine and it worked our really good, good location, we could store our bikes in our room over night...it was fine. I probably got less than 10 hours sleep over the 3 nights because it was so noisy, but thats okay. Sleep is for woosies.
We hired bikes and cycled round San Diego. We went to Balboa park which had some really beautiful buildings, and then we went to the San Diego Zoo!!!! A bit of a tourist trap obviously, but really nice. We cycled round little Italy, and even hit up some 4 lane roads on those bikes. Didn't get honked at once.
It was great having the bikes because we could see more of the place in a shorter period of time.
We ate some really delicious food and just really chilled out there. We took the ferry over to the little island opposite and visited the beach which was lovely, however, when you are on a bike, yo are nice and cool and do NOT realise you are getting crisped. That minor mishap resulted in a LOT of aloe vera and a bag of ice.....
We met our Swedish friends again which was fun, and went out. Interesting night, the less said the better probably! They are really really lovely girls.
San Diego is a beautiful little seaside city that feels like a town. It is so chilled out. I couldn't stop thinking about my dad because it was a perfect place for him, so much action going on in the water around it, so many boats, so much fishing. I have also never seen so many beautiful people in my life. It was unreal.
Had some delicious seafood, some amazing gluten free cakes and lots of ice cream. I am thinking of buying another seat on the plane for coming back to accommodate my growing rear end.
