It was an early start to the day. Was up at 3.05am and at the Orlando airport by 4.30am. Washington metro was easy to navigate from the airport to the hotel. Staying at Washington Hilton and they checked me in at 11am without even mentioning early check in! Room is really nice. Second stay at a Hilton on this trip and you can't go wrong with a Hilton. Also free wifi in the lobby. Two of the hop on hop off bus loops start at the hotel and not that far from the metro and restaurants so awesome location.
Got onto the hop on hop off bus and started to see Washington. Got to see Lincoln Memorial and the White House and a whole lot of other sights from the bus. Saw the sniper on the roof of the White House.
It was a hot and humid day. The area around Du Pont Circle is quite Vibey and I started to fall in love with Washington. I love walking and this city is a walkers paradise. The sun only sets somewhere around 9pm.
