14th June 337km
Moved on from Soustons after a pleasant morning catching up with the blog & chatting to people on skype. Headed for the cathedral city of Albi.Long drive so didn't arrive in Albi until 8pm, the aires is situated in a quiet corner of a car park with the most impressive view of the cathedral. Walked up to have a look …it is apparently the largest brick built cathedral in the world! Built in 13th century & extended upwards in 16th century very gothic & very catholic. Sat in the square and soaked up the atmosphere. Uncomfortably hot night, the temperature in the van was 29.5°c & no sea breezes to cool us down. Drum suffering a bit but we cooled him down with a wet towel.

I was so hot I thought I would spontaneously combust at any moment. The night was even worse so they wrapped me in a wet tea towel. The gas alarm went off in the van this morning, they couldn't understand what had set it off…… Is it my fault that the gas detector is right by where I sleep…..a dog has to fart you know!
