The last couple of days have been starved of sunshine and we've had the odd rain shower to say the least.
It still hasn't stopped me from enjoying myself & after experiencing 3 days of continual rain in Laos, I've realised that's about as bad as it gets.
Yesterday I bid farewell to my Spanish friends. This is about as south as they need to go and I have no intention of heading north as I gear myself towards my flight from Singapore to Sydney on the 8th August.
The day before we took a walk up to a viewpoint where you could see panoramic views of the bay (pictured).
I'm still debating whether to go diving or not. However, after speaking with a Danish guy who's doing his PADI course, he says visibility is poor and he hasn't seen any sharks yet.
Yesterday I went to meet my friends from the diving course for breakfast. They sent me a message saying they're going to be there at 10 ish. I rocked up at 1:30 and they were no longer there (why would they be).
Instead I got chatting to some other people from Manchester, Newcastle & Seattle. Before I knew it, we had assembled a group of about 10 people including lads from Leeds, Carlisle, and Argentina. As the rain continued we kept the party going, supping beers non stop and discussing the meaning of life.
This is what I do enjoy about travelling, and particularly on your own, it doesn't take long to meet some great likeminded people who all share a common interest, travelling.
Today, as I hear the rain pelting down on my bamboo woven shack, might be a similar story.
