Rings around the world
Right then not sure where to start, seeing as though last time i sent out i had chronic dihorea. Well the last ten days have prooved to be unbelievable, we've been in Krabbi, and Ko Phi Phi. I left the girls yesterday and ive
just hit back down to earth in Bangkok (via a 20 hour bus journey). I'll be for the next few days (organising visas, tickets, washing, sleep, tv, shopping, and of course the tatoo). It was sad to say good bye to them after
three weeks, they were both wicked, and we pretty much f@cked about all day. For the record i got more tears out of them than Tim did when he left so think that makes me better somehow.. (love you man where are you?) So
then..
We only spent two nights in Krabbi, and due to the fact that the three of us were all still a little bit fragile we didn't get into any antics there or drink at all. Not that this trip is about getting smashed everyday. (or is it..? Boosch joke for you there).
Krabbi itself is one of the most beautifual places ive ever seen. Lush mountains, green hills, crystal clear water on a back drop of white beaches and piping hot sun. However the only other thing worth mentioning about this place was that our bungalow only had electricity from 6pm till 6 am. And that room got hot during the day!!!! Pure sweats, definately not attractive. Apart from that we did do out elephant treck there, which was an experience.. The girls had a tame elephant (funnily enough called Tampon..),
mine however thought he was Johnny Knoxville. Trying to go up and down the steepest hills imagineable.. He had no fear. I on the other had pretty much soiled myself. I did however blame the smell on the elephant. Oh and the
Thai tour guide took the piss out of me cos i was darker than him.. My tan is riddiculous.
Anyway from there we went over to Phi Phi Don, settled and got back into the party scene. The island is busy, however it's still trying to get over the Tsunami. Some of the stories by the locals are truely apalling, really sad.
This said however, the locals are unreal.. working day and night to put the place back together (it's nearly done), and always with a smile on their face, genuinely friendly people.
The island also has probably the best atmosphere i've seen for travellers. Bearing in mind theres f***in loads of us on the island, everyone seems to know everyone, whether it be from talking to them the night before, or if
you met them weeks ago on another island, everyones doing the same trip. You run into everyone about 3 times a day. Bearing that it mind its fair to say once again i've met some quality people (a few d*** but not many), and will stay in touch with them for a long time. Bumped into the lads i met in Bangkok 6 weeks ago which saw a couple of heavy sessions.. Long live Kully, Mike and George.
Phi Phi Don has a sister island, Phi Phi Ley, which is the site where most of the movie 'The Beach' was filmed. Its a national park, so you cant stay there, but you get long tail boats across for the afternoon. We spent a day out on the boat, i did some Cliff jumping (highest was 30 m), ripped my shorts in the process, had to tie them up with string round my leg to hide my modesty. At the same time i also got a dead leg.. (my head hit a branch as i jumped out the cliff which in turn sent me off balance and landed on my side).. It f@ckin hurt..
From there we snorkelled round the island, saw some nemos.. no more sharks though, and swam round to the entrance to 'the beach'. Unfortunately i've got no pictures of there cos my camera doesnt do water, however if you've seen the film you'll know its nothing less than paradise. Definatley go in your lifetime.
Nightime on the islands amazin, there's only 3 decent bars, but one of them opens till you want to go home, which saw a few nights become morning, and us returning at 9 am. Wicked place, better people. I did aquire a new scar which takes my tally to 3 in 7 weeks. I splipped down a hill after alot of rain, and badly scraped my foot along the gravel path. Just started to scab, and the swelling is finally down. That incident did ruin my night, howevr,
because it turned out i fell in not only rainwater, but also clay and sewage, which i was duely covered in. I legged it to the sea to clean myself up but this did nothing for the smell. I had to go buy soap from the 7-11 to clean up propperly. This didnt work, and i spent the rest of the night smelling like id pooed myself.
Sorry that was a long one, had a lot to fit in. The pictures have been updated so check them out at w.statraveljournals/stumoss, for some weird reason there's two of each picture, not sure why.. Technology is rubbish..
Love you all, keep the emails coming and as a wise man once said 'rock out with your gooch out' x x x
