CONGRATULATIONS! Lib & I are so excited for you both. Can't wait to speak to you both. When we see you both (and Rich & Claire) the champagne will be flowing! Brilliant. Can't wait to be your neighbour. Hicks, Chesneau & Fedders in Oz.

EEEK! Didn't read the bit about the engagement until now. Well, congrats! Not that I'm at all surprised...fantastic news. Getting hitched is actually pretty great. Well, I like it... Wonderful news!

Belated birthday greetings, Emma! Hope you celebrated in style. I was in Stockholm last week for work, so was completely distracted - fun, but busy. Your travels sound fantastic - this blog thingie is really great - but I'm not too envious as we're off to NZ on Saturday. Keep safe, don't forget the sunscreen, and take it easy on the shopping. A gong! Well, it will serve you well as a dinner bell, I guess...
Djimi 'show Us Ya Medals' Traore
Just so you know, I'm available for after-dinner speaking at the wedding. My rate is reasonable and I bring a collection of wonderful anecdotes to life in a routine I like to call; "Djimi - A Career in Medals". Here are a list of my medals for those who continue to mock me.
I hope you are having fun over there while i am rambling around in my empty kennel eating straw and whiskas (yes i have now been moved to cat food). Yes I hope you are both very happy.....
Don't you worry about me......i'll be fine. I nearly got taken away by another family last week but i didn't like the look of the guy so i bit his index finger off....made a very nasty mess and I wasn't allowed any biscuits for a week but mission accomplished....they won't be wanting me now. I'm still holding on to the hope that you'll come back and take me. Please I beg you!
I've written lots but you don't seem to be replying....i can only assume that you've forgotten about me. I don't know how much more i can take....my only amusement is to throw myself a stick and then chase it....
Come get me

Stu And Emma
Hi all
Now in Hoi An and really loving it. Weather is improving and Hoi An is a really beautiful old city - one of the few that remained intact during the war. We arrived yesterday afternoon and had a particularly boozy evening last night - ended the night in one of the strangest nightclubs with lots of Vietnamese security guards who wouldn't let us take any photos. Stu cut up the dance floor with a woman called 'Snow' whilst I chatted to a random Canadian bloke we've befriended - Daire.
We've been living it up these past few days - staying in very posh hotels and drinking champagne on account of the fact that we got engaged on Australia Day. Stu asked me in the hotel bar in Hue. No idea where or when yet in terms of a wedding, but for now we're making the most of a legitimate reason to blow the budget. Very happy.
We plan to stay in Hoi An for the next few days - in fact, we have to as we spent a small fortune on tailoring this afternoon and need to go back for various fittings. I've ordered a silk dress combo that on reflection I think will look awful, but am hoping the rest of the stuff looks ok. Stu has also bought a gong, complete with stand, so I'm in the clear in terms of getting any stick for impractical purchases...

P.S: No random sporting references this update as Emma's at the keyboard

Bit late but was thinking of you over the weekend. Happy Birthday! Sounds like it was a great day and trip is going well. We just back got from a weekend in the Hunter Valley - stinking hot 39 on your birthday, but had lots of lovely wine to keep our fluids up. Erin x

Van harte gefeliciteerd! Happy birthday, Emma! Hope you are having a fantastic time on your birthday.
Loved the Laos photos - can't wait to hear what you thought of Vang Vieng! We really enjoyed floating down the river on an oversized rubber tyre, drinking Beer Lao and stopping off at random outdoor drinking places, swimming in lagoons and exploring caves. We really miss it!!!
Not sure if you're already in Vietnam - if you're planning to do the overnight boat trip to Halong Bay (which is really worth it), we thought the overnight stay on Cat Ba island was very disappointing (much nicer to just stay on the boat). Have got lots of pointers for Vietnam and Cambodia if you're interested (am reliving it all through you guys!).
