Hey guys just updating this blog from Singapore as our flight requires us to stop here for a couple hours but on the bright side theres free internet too! Any from the beginning we took a night train from Champon after taking a ferry from Koh Tao. Such a good experience, in this train carriage with your own bed (top bunks for both of us) with a curtain blocking you from the 30 odd other people in your carriage. Took 12 hours and we got to Bangkok at 7:00am and headed to our destination on Khaosarn road caled the D+D Inn, great place with pool on the roof, we shared this initially with our friend Niehm (Nieve if you want a phonetic pronounciation) from Koh Pha-Ngan and then also with another mate from Koh Pha-Ngan called Phil.
Plenty to talk about, we slept and swam the first day due to tiredness etc from the night train but found the energy to go out that night, and once again in a bar called Gullivers, Josh manages to get talking to an Asian girl, and for the rest of the night we get free whiskey.. woO! We seem to have this accidental cunning partnership which works like a charm... although earlier on in the night we got our bums whipped by these Thai girls in table football like 8-2, shameful I know, we also had to crawl under the table as a punishment! But i got the feeling they play all day everyday!
The next day after a banging hangover, I managed to pull myself out of bed to go to the Mega MBK shopping centre with Phil and Niehm, Josh didnt manage to make it! We travelled in the famous Tuk-Tuk, although we made it clear that we didn't want any additional stops to one of their shops as Niehm and Phil the previous night had been wheeled away for an hour going round random places which they had not bargained for!Saw so much cheap stuff and it was very upsetting this wasnt my last stop due to the fact I wanted to buy so much as it was so cheap and of good quality!
That night, was a very interesting night. Me and Josh ventured to the infamous Ping Pong show! Yes it was extremely interesting, far too explicit to describe on the net and in the public eye. All i need to say is these girls are EXTREMELY talented. If you want further details just email me or Josh and we'll explain in good graphic detail. I think you get the idea anyway! By the way, before any one makes any presumptions we both categorically believe it was SICK!
The next day me and Josh overslept big time! We were meant to be outside the hotel at 7am for a 3 in 1 tour of the floating market, the bridge of the river kwai and the big pagoda, the home of the original buddha! So yes we woke up at 6:50 and stil having to sort out rooms due to phil and Niehm leaving that day, we somehow made it! It was a great day out though saw a lot of famous and historical sites and the tour included a free buffet lunch on a floating restaurant (restaurant on the river).
This morning i crawled out of bed to visit the Grand Palace and the Sleeping Buddha, but Josh decided he needed his beauty sleep before our big flight. When I got the palace i was made to wear stupid blue trouser robes, i looked a fool! Oh well it was a nice site with plenty of golden buildings. The Sleeping Buddha was also very impressive, this golden buddha statue that is laying down surrounded by a building with gold interior decoration.
We will miss Thailand very very very much, we have thoroughly loved it and will definitely come again. We, of course will miss the locals laughing in our faces, the negotiations of every and any price, the great food, wonderful weather etc etc. We still have unfinished business, we still need to see places we wanted to see, for now it isnt goodbye but just a short time apart!
