Today we got to sleep in to 9.00 and then we had to go to the Waipio valley, wai meaning water and pio meaning curvy. We got on a shuttle bus and took a tour. The tour guides name was Douglas, he was very nice and he brought his little 3 year old daughter on the tour with us. We took the shuttle bus because everyone who had already done it said that it was 1 mile up and 10 miles back. We saw couples go down together and come back up on opposite sides of the road. Many people went down with only a camera and totally unprepared. Our tour guide said that the worst thing he had ever seen going up or down the valley wasn't people going down with kids it was Chinese women wearing high heels. The road went down at 25% and it took ages to get down. We had great views of the valley and Doug told us heaps of stories about him living in Waipio valley. Afterwards we went to tex drive in and I got a cheeseburger. You could get unlimited refills. Then we went to Akaka falls, it was 400 ft long. The waterfall was really awesome. After Akaka falls we went back to the hotel, packed and swam in the pool.
