God is American ... don't you forget it.

hello all. im in positano, south of naples and a world away. this place is the best by far. on the bus ride over from sorrento, i made sure to get a seat on the right so i could check out the coast. i noticed a handful of private, secluded beaches accessable only by boat and decided that once in town id rent a kayak and paddle there. turns out the hostel has a deal with a rental company on the beach and its only 4 euros an hour, plus they have chairs and umbrellas and a little restauant that serves bruscetta that youd die for. so once in the boat, i acclimated myself and headed for the beaches, there was also a grotto that you could paddle into and the best part was not a toursit in sight, really beautiful. i felt like robisnon caruso. i think thats how you spell it. anyway, i paddled for a couple of hours and hung out on the rocks and beaches and sat in my chair and read and ate and it was great. it was what i wanted to do since ive been in italy. today i did the same only lounged a bit longer. last night i also walked into town and got some dinner. the town is really unbelieveable, you should google it for pics. its perched on a mountain, cliffs everywhere and right on the sea. this morning when i woke up there was an old, old wooden ship docked in front of my hostel, which, by the way, is paradise. fro 25 a night, you get the best view in all of positano, ive got a huge balcony outside my bedroom door. this place is so clean too. and..this is the kicker, they have laundry service, you pay for it, but man, it helps a lot. tomorrow i go to rome, but this is not the last time im coming to positano. from the hostel, to get to the beach, or anywhere for that matter, youve got to navigate a maze of steep stairs that go everywhich direction. this place is great. well, gotta go, ill check in from rome. boo ya.
