God is American ... don't you forget it.
its been a while since i last updated and lots has happened. for one, jess is now with me and we have been traveling for about a week now. we left florence and took a train to vienna, austria but missed our train because it was late and ended up spending the day in venice italy which was amazing and looked alot like a disney land attraction- only it was the real thing. we then took the night train to vienna that took about twelve hours with no airconditions stuck in a room the size of a shoebox with four smelly germans. the most awful night of my life by far. we finally got to vienna and the hotel we booked charged us for the night before for missing the reservation and didnt have a room ready for us and so we headed out to explore vienna on no sleep. it was rainy and we were cranky but it was nice and i ate a huge sausage. we went back to the hotel and crashed. and then went out again that night. the next day was nice, vienna is pretty cool but we didnt hav emuch time to explore. we then went to salzburg which was beautiful but only stayed for the day, there was a huge pretzel for sale, the size of a christmas wreath..we had already eaten a few pretzels so we had to pass but i got a picture of it. salzburg was better than vienna...and smaller with a river running through it, quite nice. next we headed to munich which is where i am presently and it is amazing here. the best city by far. the germans are incredibly nice people and not at all shy or rude. smiles all around. our hostel is really great, brand spankin new. the weather is beautiful and today we spent the day in a place called the english gardens which is much bigger than central park and much nicer and get this, there is surfing there. on the river that runs through the park there is this place where the river is choppy and makes a decent sized constant wave and these crazy guys jump right in there surf it. you have to see it to believe it. this place is so clean and amazing, it reminds me of 1950s america, everyone is so pleasannt and its so clean and the park is amazing. there are beer gardens everywhere. its a utopia, people are swimming in the river that runs through the park and sunbathing and some dudes are even buck naked. we took a tour the other day and that was nice too, a walking tour. everyone should just read jess's journal, hers it better than mine this week. so, go ahead and do that. next we head to berlin, then cologne, then amsterdam then brussels then luxembourg then switzerland. ok, so i realize that this entry sucks but give me a break im tired. love ya'll. rodge
