Steph's Asia Trip
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!
Got the bus to Cameron Highlands - took 4 hours and thought I was going to be sick at the end since the last 1 and a half hours were on windy roads around the hills/mountains. The hostel owner picked us up at the bus stop. We're staying in a hill town called Tanah Rata, which is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. The highlands are very picturesque and there are lots of tea plantations and farms. The thing I've been most struck with in Malaysia is how lush everything is!! Bit like England.
The climate in the hills is much nicer- cooler (25degrees), which is a welcome change from the city.
The hostel is nice - we're staying in army camp-things. Aluminium bunkers nestled in the hill. It only costs 2pounds a night each!! Got warm showers which we need in the cooler climate.
Going trekking tomorrow and going for a steam-boat dinner tonight!!
