Buenos Aires 02.05.-07.05.11

On Monday, 02.05.11 arrived at 7am in Buenos Aires. I was so happy to know that I could stay with Carlos. Carlos is a Couchsurfer and offered me to stay at his apartment in the suburb "Belgrano"! As the "subte" (metro) was packed with people at that time I took a taxi to Carlos's place. Even though he told me that he would get up at 8pm I decided to have a coffee at the nice café opposite his apartment building. At 8.30am I knocked on his door and when he opened the door he apologized for oversleeping.

We showed me around his "empty" apartment and offered me his bedroom. Although I refused he insisted to sleep on his air mattress….alright I thought, my back will be thankful for it!!!

I made myself comfortable, had a shower and went to the supermarket. Carlos is working from home and therefore we had lunch together in his flat…..which was very nice as we got to know each other straight away. At 6pm I left the flat and took the bus to Palermo where I was catching up with my previous Couchsurfing host Magdalena. It was sooo nice to see her again after 4 months of traveling. We had sooo much to tell!!!

As this was my second visit in Buenos Aires and I had done most of the sightseeing stuff during my first stay and therefore I felt pretty relaxed regarding sightseeing!But I wanted to sell my tent and sort out my Credit Card issue while I was there.

On Tuesday, 03.05.11 I spent the whole morning trying to find the cheapest way to send my credit card over from Germany and to find the best solution for my tent. Carlos recommended to add an advert on "MercadoLibre" which I did and additionally I added an advert on the Couchsurfing website aswell. Unfortunately there was only one person who showed interest but for a very cheap price!

The next day, 04.05.11 I went to the CEMETATIO EN RECOLETA as I didn't make it on my first stay in Buenos Aires. In the afternoon I caught up with my lovely friend OMAR who I met a few weeks before on the farm "La Confluencia" in El Bolson. It was soooo nice to see him again and catch up on what has happened in the last weeks….and it was nice to sit in the sun and enjoy an ice cream!

On the Thursday, 05.05.11 I had only one plan for the day….finding a good and cheap hairdresser. Well I found a very good one….but not the cheapest! But Male, who I met later on, was impressed and liked it! Thank God…hi,hi! That night I also went out with Carlos and his "girl friend" Augustina. We went to a nice bar in Belgrano and had great fun….even though that it was tough for me to follow the Spanish conversation as it was quite loud in the bar.

On Friday, I only wanted to send a birthday card for my Mum's 70th birthday and later on I went to the new and chick "Puerto Madrin" where I bought my ticket for the ferry to URUGUAY. Later on I enjoyed a yummy coffee in the sun at Starbucks!

On my last night Carlos and I had another nice dinner together and a great conversation until 1pm in the morning. Puuhh again it was late even though I had to get up at 6.45am the other morning.

On Saturday, 07.05.11 at 9.30pm I was on the ferry to COLONIA in URUGUAY. Finally a new country.....and I was very excited!
