Villa La Angostura-Villa Traful

My next stop was VILLA ANGOSTURA, the last stop before crossing the border to Chile again. Villa Angostura is a tiny and touristy town with 11.000 inhabitants and close to the NATIONAL PARK LOS ARRAYANES.

The hostel "Hostel Italia" where I checked in for three days was very nice and the staff was very helpful. On my first day I walked up to the MIRADOR BELVEDERE and further on to the CASCADA INAYACAL. The trek was supposed to take me two hours but I got a bit lost on the way back and therefore it took me nearly four hours. But close to town I met Willy from Bremen who was travelling with his old MAN truck. He introduced me to his Mexican wife and his dog and cat who were accompanying him for the last two years. Willy himself was already on the road for seven years….wow que impressionante!!!

The next day I took the bus to the even smaller town VILLA TRAFUL. It was recommended by Xavier, another traveller from Barcelona…and it was absolutely worth going there. Villa Traful is lying at the beautiful Lake "LAGO TRAFUL" and surrounded by mountains. The first day I walked up to the four km far away Mirador and the view over the lake was absolut stunning and I was blessed with sunshine!

The second day I just walked along the lake relaxed and updated my travel blog. At 6pm I took the bus back to VILLA ANGOSTURA where I stayed another night.
