Happy ThanksGiving! Today we rented a Motobike and headed on our adventure...
We climbed up to Tiger Temple today - 1,287 steps to the top! In some areas it is so scary you think you will fall backward if you are not holding onto the railing...sweat just dripping off our bodies, our lungs heaving, hair plastered to our heads...mokeys sneaking up behind me to steal the bottle of water I have dangling carelessly from my fingertips, only to watch him flip off the top and start chugging the water down...too cute to be upset and obviously thirsty :)
This is how we started our climb! Once at the top the view was absolutely amazing...so vast, so green, so raw, so stunning. We tried to take pictures to capture the beauty but unfortunately pictures never do anything justice. The terrain here is incredible...mountains just shoot up from the earth, the jungles look so untouched, lush. There was a lady up at the top...probably climbs up everyday offering incense and lighting candles to the buddas, we saw her on the way down, happy and at utter peace with everything around her. So cool to see.
Onec back down the mountain we ran into the monkeys again. it was feeding time. There were at least 30 monkey's dangling from the vines, running crazily thru the jungle and foliage below. I fed them bananas that they woul come and grab from my hands so delicately and with caution. But they are so cute...I just love them.
tomorrow is our thanksgiving...we will be spending the day at the Sheraton in Ao Nang...spoiling ourselves, vedging and lounging. Tomorrow night for dinner we are meeting up with a group..the owners and dive instructors at the dive shop we have bee hanging out with for the last few nights...they have taken us in as family and us likewise. Such a great group of people, they have been feeding us and making us comfortable here in Krabi. They are all from England and just opened up their dive shop. So tomorrow should be a fun thanksgiving of lobster and other thailand goodies. Tomorrow we are going to the morning market...I don't think I will like it...fish so fresh when you buy them they are still flapping on the pile...and who knows what else... I will try and keep my sensitivities to myself.
The days are starting to count down...such a sad part of any trip...
see you all soon
