The internet has been down for the last couple days so we haven´t been able to blog in awhile. Everything is going really good, well for the most part. Once again we have had some encounters with the insects. I finally was able to see why Roxanne didn´t want me to find out about the spiders. They are huge! Ofcourse I had to step up and try to kill the giant spider because Roxanne was going to start crying. I never did catch him, but I took a picture so you guys can see what we were up against. Lets just say me and Roxanne didn´t sleep well that night. And for the past couple nights we have slept with a night light on so that we can see the walls in the middle of the night in case the spider, Argog, comes back. Speaking of insects and animals. You know your not in the US anymore when you walk down the street and all of a sudden a cow almost a bull is just running down the street. No one even looked twice, well besides me and Roxanne. Then we keep walking and all of a sudden we see a horse eating out of our trash cans. He was just chilling. And then ofcourse the next day we see a big running wild. We have see our horse on a daily basis now so we decided that he is ours. We named him Oscar the caballo.
We have been going to the beach everymorning when it is not raining. I am officially a cherry. The kids at the library ask me every other day why my skin is so red compared to Roxanne´s. We then make lunch, read and then are off to the Library. The kids are so adorable. We also have a couple who are little s***s, but it makes it interesting that way. We have a routine schedule everyday. From 220 to 330 the kids read spanish books to us or we read to them. That took us awhile to get use to. It is not that easy to read a spanish book. Then from 330 to 430 the kids can color, draw, and play board games. The kids don´t have coloring books so they ask us to draw everything and anything. They think we should beable to draw what ever they want. One day Roxanne drew about 30 pom trees. I told her she shouldn´t have started that. The last hour consist of sport games and the kids get to take turns in the playground area. Which is a very big deal because it is the only playground in Las Terranas. It has 2 titter totters and two swings. Well now one swing. A swing broke today. The kids fight over it every day. It was sad because today was my last day. I truly enjoyed the kids. It was a wonderful experience.
On Saturday one of the volunteers Jill and her boyfriend Steve are going to have a grill out. So me and Roxanne are going to spend my last night in Las Terranas grilling out and then ofcourse we have to go out on my last night! And then Sunday morning we are off to Santo Domingo for one night. My flight leaves Monday morning! I will see you all in a few days! MUAH!
