Ok here goes another update.
Friday.
I took the train to Edinburgh. It takes about four and half hours. Wasn't too bad I looked at the countryside and talked with some people along the way. When I arrived in Edinburgh I couldn't believe how hilly the town was. It was a hike to get to the hostel. But it is in a great location, right next to the castle. At night I did a ghost walking tour and went all around town. I got a lot of great night pictures.
Saturday.
I did a free* walking tour that lasted about 3 hours. Pretty good. We saw a lot of the sites. Walked up and down the Royal Mile and saw the cafe where JK Rowling created Harry Potter and the school for orphans that inspired her. I also went to the scottish museum and saw a lot of cool stuff inside. It was every smithsonian musuem crammed into one, on a smaller scale. I wanted to do more but I was tired so I took a three hour nap and walked around a little at night.
Sunday.
Today I went to the Old Course at St. Andrews. On Sundays the course is open to the public and closed to golfers, so I was able to walk around. I walked most of the course before the rain hit. I was amazed at how windy it was there. I can see why it is a difficult course. I got numerous photos around the course and many around the 18th. Especially by the bridge. The train took about an hour from Edinburgh and then 20min on a bus. So that was pretty much the whole day. Next week I plan to view the Edinburgh Castle because I did not have time to this weekend. I am looking forward to my 5 day tour of Scotland.
