sharon's ventures down under
Hi there,
After i last wrote my tour has involved all forms of transport, including sleeper trains, train on the death railway, ferry, minibuses and a pick up truck. I met up with the tour on thrursday night and had an early start on friday - 6.30 nice! We got to visit the floating market, not as impressive as you would imagine. We then carried on to the river kai, where we crossed over the bridge that was blown up in the war, and rode the death railway. I even got to sample the delights of a squat toilet, interesting experience! From the river kai we drove to the train station, dumped our luggage to go and get something to eat. Lets just say the food available inthe food market didnt look very appealling, so we brought the bakery and snack shop ready for our sleeper train. We picked up the sleeper train which we were then on for 15 hours. I loved the train, we were all in a caarriage, our seats folded out to make beds with individual a curtains. Would definately do iot again. After our train journey we then caught a ferry over to ko pan nang, with all our luggage aswell. On arrival we got picked up by a pick up truck which drove us through the jungle with our luggage tied to the top, very hilly and bumpy. At about 5pm yesterday we finally arrived at our beach bungalows where we will stay for the next 3 days. So now will enjoy the sunshine andthe beaches for a while. I will try and up load my photos within the next few days so you can see how lovely it is here. Bye for now, got a beach to lie on!
