After arriving back into Lima with the entire UN crew, the name I dubbed the group, we officially said our goodbyes to each other. Hugo and I decided to stay together and travel south to Ica and then onto Huacachina, which is located only minutes outside Ica. we arrived in Ica late and ended up crashing at a hotel that was still in the finishing stages of it's construction. For this reason we got a room at a hostel price. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I believe we were the only one there so it was VIP treatment for us. The next day Hugo and I explored Ica from the plaza de armas to the local museum. But the beat stop was when we decided to drop in on what seemed to be a pickup soccer match. We thought we would watch and and take in some local flare but the group of young kids sitting in the bleachers had other plans. We were immediately swarmed by the kids. The kids laughed and asking us a few silly questions in English and Hugo and I tried to entertain their curiosity. We eventually parted ways with them but it is an experience that will stick with me. After an eventful day we took a cab back to the hotel grabbed out stuff and headed to Huacachina.
