Another morning when we all woke early, so homework & packing were all finished by 9am! Walked across the road, to the plaza beside Mercado Hildago, & negotiated our way through a dozen women, all shouting & waving menus at us, to try to persuade us to eat at their stall! We sat, & had a fantastic breakfast (ham or chorizo + eggs + beans + café de ollo or freshly squeezed OJ - M$200 the lot!), then popped back to the bakery for chocolate doughnuts, & something to eat on the journey. D also picked up some travel sickness meds, to prevent another unpleasant bus journey.
We walked back to the hotel, grabbed our bags, & hailed a taxi to take us to the bus station. Yet again, our timing was good, & within a few minutes we were loading our bags onto the bus, for the 1 hour journey to Leon (M$44pp). No frills on this bus, but even so the time passed quickly, so before we knew it, we had arrived, & were buying our tickets for the 2 hour trip to Aguascalliantes. D&L passed the time on this leg of the journey watching a dubbed Russell Crowe film (The next three days), & annoyingly, the bus arrived with ~15 minutes of the film left to go!
We asked the taxi driver if he knew of a cheap, central, hotel, & after some consideration, he dropped us at the Hotel San Antonio (M$350, 2xdbls, own bathroom & free wifi!). After checking in, we went for a wander - firstly trying to locate a laundrette, but none were open. Then we walked up the road from the hotel to the Templo de San Antonio, through a pretty little square, & into the central Plaza de la Patria, where, in the palacio de Gobierno, we saw murals painted by Osvaldo Barra (who's mentor was Diego Rivera).
Then we had a brief look around the (horrible) shopping mall, before heading back to the hotel to get the washing for the laundrette (which by now was open), & having ham & cheese tortas for tea. A quick stop at OXXO for beer, & we were back in our room, settling down for the night.
