Since our credit cards need an SMS code to purchase on the internet, we were forced to take a taxi to the Cruz del Sur bus terminal to purchase them. So we did that in the morning, and then took another taxi into the city centre. Today's big event was buying a can of tuna and visiting the cats at Parque Kennedy. Pat and Irene had planned for us to join a bus tour around town, but we decided that 70-90 soles per person was slightly out of our price range, so instead we had lunch together at La Luchas, a sandwich cafe next to the Parque, with incredible sandwiches and chips. After meeting Pat and Irene on our return train from Machu Picchu, we took them up on their offer to stay with them for New Year's in Miraflores, Lima. We arrived extraordinarily early again (thanks speeding bus driver!) and didn't have the apartment number, so we convinced concierge to find it for us and let us up. The apartment was incredible.
