Day 2 Cape Town
Began our day at Table Mountain- beautiful sunny morning and the view was spectacular. What a beautiful, sophisticated, clean city. A big surprise to me. The fun thing about a trip like this is what you learn about your family and I had no idea that Annie was afraid of heights. Where did that come from? Probably something I did! After Table Mountain we visited an orphanage and toured a township. It is hard to imagine the life so many people in the world lead and the babies who are just left by the side of the road.
Next we drove to the wine country- had lunch at a town settled by the French - the architecture here is European with a South African twist - and sooooo clean! Then on to a bird sanctuary and a crocodile farm, tour Stollenbach , back to Cape Town and finished the day at the Victoria Wharf mall.
Annie-was very interesting seeing townships. Orphanage was so sad...kids were so adorable. Three infants there which sometimes they find on side of roads. Wine country was beautiful, off to Ants Hill! Josie- I had a lot of fun seeing the town ships and seeing how they live. Overall my experience in Cape Town was amazing. It's lilly now I got to hold 2 eagles 3 owls(one of them danced to gangnam style) and pet an eagle! I also got to hold a baby alligator it was so much fun!

Geography class Love the pictures of the seal! Julia likes your mint jeans. Did you talk to the kids in the orphanage? Are there a lot of homeless people where you are? We were really surprised to hear that people dropped off children at the side of the road? If you can bring us back candy that we don't see here. Thanks much. What have you learned about the culture? How do you greet someone?
