hi!!
this is the first time i've been able to get online, sorry its been so long.
found it difficult to settle in at first, spent the weekend in the capital
which i really am not fond of! But came to Cape Coast on Sunday and felt
much more at home. Started work yesterday which is definately an
experience, but a massive learning opportunity. Yesterday was very hard
work and a little disheartening but had a fantastic day today. Have made
some great friends in the house and am now feeling very at home. It was
all very overwhelming to begin with though. I have a mobile number here
0245940327 but i am not sure of the prefix so perhaps someone that i have
called or texted could 'reply to all' to let everyone know! It is free for
me to recieve calls and texts and would be lovely to hear from anyone! But
i dont have anyone's number so please say who you are!
I don't really have much of an appetite yet because im not quite
acclimatised to the heat but have been eating traditional food and enjoyed
it. (possibly including goat - it was a bit suspicious for beef!) All the
people are very friendly, especially children and there is a brilliant
array of random animals about the palce, horses, goats, chickens, sheep,
lizards and tropical birds. there's palm trees everywhere and it's all
pretty idyllic. We're spending the weekend under canvas in the rainforets
this weekend (Kakum National Park) and doing a walk in the canopy on rope
bridges at sunrise.
Have just collected a skirt that i bought the material and designed and have
had made for less than 3pounds. a taxi to work is about 14p, fanta/coke is
about 20p..... you get the idea!! It's fantastic!!
The electricity commonly cuts out so i'll leave it there before i lose it
all.
