Sihanoukville... oh my goodness. If you don't like partying this isn't the place for you. We didn't intend to stay for 6 days but it really has some way of gripping you. Some people we met had been there for MONTHS.
We stayed in Utopia, a dorm where you paid $1... and stayed for as long as you want. In all fairness, you don't want to stay there long. We eventually moved ourselves into a nice $20 a night suite.
The booze cruise here was incredible. Cheap drinks, good music and a stop off on a deserted beach... and of course, a wet t-shirt comp, not that I entered. Or did I?!?!
Yeh I did.
Anyway, good places to go here... 'Big Easy' for food; Utopia for VERY cheap beds and a good chance of catching a disease or meeting a prostitute in the bar area; naphouse for chilled pre-drinks; one of the 2 cinemas for a nice bit of relaxation (they're just rooms with sofas which you and your friends can sit in and choose a film to watch on a screen); the beach that is 15 mins tuk tuk away; and Dolphin Shack or JJs for dancing the night away.
Really pushed the boat out with Haloween costumes haha can't go wrong with wearing black and drawing on cat whiskers! Great to catch up with Jamie! Finally booked a bus out of that place. Next stop Siem Reap!
