Today we decided that we were feeling a little run down and basically needed some pampering! We went for our usual breakfast in little Italy of a cream cheese toasted sesame bagel with a caramel latte....can't beat it.... then went to the many pamper shops and got a pedicure for our poor tired feet!! The best pedicure ever.... for only a fiver!!! An hour and a half of pampering in a massage chair which not only massaged ur back in 5 different ways it also massaged ur legs...heaven! We then got a cab to the outskirts of town to a stadium called Candlestick Park to watch a real american football game....yes it was the San Francisco 49ers V the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a little hairy at the start as we had to buy tickets from the touts (apparently safe here!) Although...typically me and hannah had not got any cash out so i had to go into the stadium on my own and get some cash...come out and meet hannah and the ticket guy without getting caught by the cops which were hanging around us!! hahahaha....very funny! Anyway...once we got in it was insane! The american football fans were much more vocal than the english! As soon as we got in there we both bought 49er's T'shirts as we looked totally out of place. Got a beer and went to our seats.... we were pretty high up but still had a wicked view of the game, Couldn't believe that both sets of fans are seated mixed together - never happen in england!! We sat next to some really lovely eagles fans who kept us up to date with what was going on! Its such a crazy game which lasted 3 hours as the time stops as soon as the ball is not in play. The players were all standing still ..... looking like they were waiting for something...we asked the eagles fans what was going on and they said that the game had stopped as the commercials for american tv coverage had not finished!!! So they actually halt the entire game for the adverts!!!! Crazy!! In the end the 49er's lost in the last quarter but it was such a cool game. We had not idea where to get a cab from so we kept walking with the crowd out of the stadium....and walking....and walking....until we realised that we were no longer near the stadium, no longer with a load of people and walking into a distict that did not look good!!! Ahhhh. After panicing slightly and wondering how the hell we were going to get home as all the roads were jammed from the match traffic, we finally came to a main road and managed to flag a cab...phew! We got back to the hostel and went for dinner.... and then again crashed!
