28th june today we spent all day travilling to the french rivera. arrived their around 5pm and set up our tents and had tea.
29th june today we went to a french perfumery and saw how perfume was made. after that we went to the beach for a swim. the water here is so deep and clear, i swam all the way out to the shark net (about 30 metres short) after i heard a loud bang and i thought it was a shark warnig so i swam back turns out it could of been a gun going off for midday. after that we went back to the campsite and got ready to go to monoco. on the way their our tour manager got us to all put our passports up to the window to be scanned as we crossed the border (well we all fell for it). we stopped off at viewing area and took photos and have a glass of champagne and we saw a group of guys pull up and take one of those binocoulars that you pay for but it was allready out of the ground. it looked a bit sus as they didn't have anything on their van to say they who they work for. we then headed to see the royal palace and the yellow submarine. we then drove along the monte carlo grand prix race trackand then to monte carlo casino but i lost my 5 euro.
30th july left early today and headed for florance. we stopped off along the way for pizza and went and saw the leaning tower of piza. while in piya i went to the toilet and saw the biggest toilet bowl i had ever seen, it was about 1 1/2 times the size of a normal bowl and they the toilet seats off here for some reason. we arrived in florance and put up our tents and had tea before heading to red gaurda bar (popular with tour groups). i shared a shuttle of heinekin simular to our beer towers with another member of our tour, but i didn't finnish it all so i gave the rest to a guy i ran into from my last tour. we left around midnight to go back to our camp and then went to the camp bar and had a few drinks.
1st july today we went to the city of florance and went to a leather, gold and silver shop and saw a leather making demonstration. then we went on walking tour with a guide (i nearly died it's so bloody hot here and no wind). the rest of the day we spent walking around the streets, had lunch and chilled out in the 1st bit of shade we found. we then went to a tuscin dinner and then to space electronic disco nightclub. i only had 2 drinks as they were a bit pricey over here. i left a drink on the table while i stood up to take a photo of something and one of the bar staff came along and took it thinking i had finnished. i ended up getting another one so that was good.
2nd july we left eary and headed for rome. we arrived at our campsite and put up our tents, after that we went into rome and had a bit of a walking tour from our tour manager and went to trevi fountain and tru a coin over each shoulder. we bought our on tea before heading back to camp.
3rd july this morning we took a train into town and started lineing up to get into the vatican city museam. the line was about 2km or so long so i walked back up to near the front of the line and sneaked in (it only took me 1/2 hour compaired to the others of 2 1/2 hours) i wasn't going to wait in the hot sun for that long. i ended up getting about 2 hours longer in their than the others which i had a good look around and saw micheal angelos painting, walked tru the church and saw pope john paul the 2nds tomb. after that we went on an imperiall walking tour tru the ancient ruins and outside the collosseum. after that a few of us we went into the colosseum and then we took the metro to see the spanish steps and then back to the campsite for a swim.
4th july we had a free day to do what we wanted so i caught up on my travel journals in the morning and then spent the rest of the day sitting in the sun, swimming in the pool with a few drinks.
5th july we left rome early and travelled to napali to catch a ferry to the island of capri. we missed the 1st ferry so we had to go to another port to catch the next one. we had about three hours in capri and we took a 6 seater open roof taxi (specially made for capri) to anacapri. the roads are so narrow over hear that theirs only a mirror gap between each car. we took a chair lift to the top which you can see over the whole island, after that we then boarded a ferry to sorronto were we set up camp and headed for town for tea.
6th july we left soronto early and travelled to pompeiand got a guided tour of the ruins after that we had lunch which was crap (we got 20% discount cards from our tour manager and we all thought it would be good food but it was crap it was cold but it looked like it was hot because it was roast veges ect). after that we travelled for about 4 1/2 hours to catch an overnight ferry to corfu.
7th july we arrived in corfu about 7am and went to the campsite. the campsite we are staying at is only 2-3 minutes away from the beach. we put up our tents and had breakfast and headed off to the beach. we stayed their to around 2pm before we headed off to do water sports', i went parasailing and got halfway around before the boat started running out of fuel so we went back and refueled and i had another go. i also went watersking but didn't get up, but i had fun trying. we then went back to camp had tea and head back to the beach for a swim and we played vollyball in the sea. after that we went to the beach bars for drinks.
8th july this morning we had a sleep before having a late breakfast then we boarde georges boat for the whole day cruising around the island and pulling into bays for a swim. we had lunch on the boat which they supplied (salad and chips). it was well worth the 31 euro for the day. we finnished around 4:30 and headed back to camp and then to edam bar and had a few drinks. at midnight we celebrated my birthday and i got a free drink and a free t-shirt from my tour manager.
