Day 4 - Long ride today. ..
I woke up at 4:30 this morning to the sound of rain. I got up about 20 minutes later with the birds. By the time I'd broken down camp and started rolling, it was 6:10ish and still raining.

Had a lovely ride in the misty mountains and as I climbed in altitude I noticed a distinct drop in temperature. The aptly named "Rainy Pass" still had a couple of feet of snow on the ground, though the roads were clear.

I decided not to spend another night in the Ross Lake area as there didn't appear to be much chance of the rain letting up. So I rolled on to the town of Republic. 195 miles on the bike today. Not my record, but still tiring, as the Blue Moose handles more like a tractor than a motorcycle.

Tonight I paint the town of Republic, and tomorrow I dig for fossils with my fellow tourists!
