12/30 I must say that I love shopping at 後火車站! A lot of great deals on adorable things! Had lunch at 雲滇 again today. In the evening, the mom and I secretly went to Sogo to get my little bro his birthday present! Bought a black PSP3 and anpan man candies for him, hah! Anpan man is our little inside joke about it being my bro's hero. Around midnight, we gave him his surprise and, of course, overwhelming hugs and kisses :)
12/31 Today's my little bro's big day! We went to 新光三越 to shop for a bit while ah ma met up with her old classmates. Sis got her iTouch today since she was addicted to mines. We headed to New York New York after lunch and got to shop more while we were there. We had 鼎泰豐 again tonight and I had to have more 小籠包! Yummy-licious! Birthday song and cake during the night. I was quite disappointed that we didn't get to countdown at Taipei 101, but we got to talk to daddy and stayed up watching live broadcast of the countdown. Cheers to a new year!
1/1 It's 2009! I did not set any specific goals or wishes this year. I believe I know what I'm supposed to do and try achieving it to the best of my abilities. We had a satisfying lunch with Uncle Tan, ah ma's godson's, family at the Hyatt. After 2 hours of good food, we did more shopping at Taipei 101 and New York New York. I wanted to visit the 101th floor, but my grandma was unwilling since she'd been there before. At night, when it all begins, my family and Penny went to 士林夜市 for dinner before strolling along the streets. Boy was it crowded! Honestly, we couldn't even move! Everyone was stuck, trying to push their way through. Crazy indeed. The three youngster were addicted to catching stuff animals at arcades and my little bro caught me a pink stitch! Aw, how sweet of him.
1/2 After lunch, we went to 西門町 again since we didn't get to shop much the last time. Mom and I each bought an adorable pair of smiley pants! We took some purikuras after. We had hotpot buffet for dinner today. While we were waiting to be seated, we were quite surprised to see two semi-celebrities, Apple and 筱婕, standing right in front of us. Penny got a tiny bit fanatic. Too intimidated to approach them, but we didn't get a snapshot of them. Mmm, dinner was satisfying as well. I had lots and lots of meat, damped in well mixed egg. I believe this was my first try. From the disbelief written all over Penny's face, I'm apparently missing out a lot on the Taiwanese culture.
1/3 Went to 國泰醫院 with the mom. Uncle Tan led the way since he is a doctor there himself. I shall not go into the details about the doctor's synopsis but nothing major. The mom and I went to Sogo for a bit, then to a game store, and finally 東區地下街. Savoring every single second with the mom. During the evening, Aunt Jenny got me a LG KU990R as an early graduation gift. I'm happily satisfied. We had dinner with ah ma and Uncle Tan at 欣枼 tonight. Sadly, today's my last day with the family. They will be heading back to Malaysia tomorrow early in the morning.
1/4 The house is extremely quiet without the family. Went out with ah ma for the afternoon. Dropped off my phone for rhinestone makeover, then headed over to the salon. My hair's curly again. First attempt of 陶瓷燙. We had hotpot for dinner at the house tonight.
1/5 Headed to the bank with ah ma in the morning. Picked up Penny from her school in the afternoon. Picked up my phone in the evening. Nothing eventful. I do love the bling on the back of my phone though.
1/6 Ah ma has a dentist appointment today so I accompanied her to the dentist. She had a lunch gathering with her old pals at 國賓 so I tagged along as well. It was quite a bore, to be honest. The driver picked me up when I finished lunch and we headed to 陽明山 to pick up Penny.
1/7 Went to the salon for a hair wash with ah ma. I did another nail art, which I absolutely love, after that. We had dinner at 欣枼, which is by far the most frequently dined restaurant for us this trip. Spent some time with Penny till late night, or early morning to be exact. Took a whole bunch of pictures with our favorite character stitch. I'm glad I got to spend time with her during this trip. We never had the chance to do so as far as I could remember.
1/8 Heading back to Hawaii. Penny and Aunt Jenny sent us to the airport. We got to spend a little more time while we were there, but just a little. Coincidentally, I was on the same flight as Eric for the second time. And so ends my well-spent winter at Taiwan.
