Bum Showers, People and a Litre of Water for Breakfast.
Well... After spending a little time in Kuwait there at some things I would like to bring home.
Bum Showers...
Every toilet I have used so far has a mini garden hose attached to the side of it...
Well people... I have to tell you... It's an unexpected blast of refreshfullness in a hot climate! (As well as the hygiene obviously!)
I might have to get one fitted at Cassa de Castle when I am back home.
People.
These fall into two distinct categories.
Everyone I have spoken to so far has been really friendly and wanted to know where I am from and how long I am staying for... Standard stuff I guess.
But then there is Sami. He is my temporary next door neighbour.
He is here to with his family to spend the festival of Ramadan with their extended family.
The guy knocked on my door, introduced himself, welcomed me to Kuwait, wished me a safe trip and gave me a gift of some food.
This has never happened in the UK! I don't think I could tell you my neighbours names!
The second type of people.
In a remarkably short time I have become VERY accustomed to having a driver, people that wash my cup and spoon the instant I have done with it and although I have stayed in a few places with maid and laundry services before... Never have I known anyone be so cheerful and friendly about it!
I need people when I am back home!
I start my day, on advice from John, with a litre of water as I get ready for work. This I defiantly will be a habit I will try to maintain when I am home.
I do feel better for it!
Pizza Hut is about a five minute walk from where I am staying...
I never thought I would say this... I went to Pizza Hut last night because it was the healthy option!
A big plate full of salad was a welcome break from the fried and grilled selection of meat!
Breakfast really is something we need to work on exporting better!
Mystery meat mini sausage, potato wedges, humus and cheese triangles do not a breakfast make!!
There are croissant but they are the ones aimed at kids and Americans as they are filled with Jam (jelly my stateside friends) and chocolate.
Right... I can hear the call to the faithful in the background... I have to send a couple of emails then I am off to green island... (The thing in the picture!)
Bye for now!
