HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
I have a feeling 2007 is gonna be a great year!!! We definately saw it in with a bang!!!!!!!
Well my last few days in Sydney have been a bit more productive...
The day after we went out to world bar with Karl (the aussie), myself, Anne and karl went to check out Coogee beach. It's a nice beach, smaller than Bondi, but quite sweet. In fact we met the boys there yesterday and spent the day there then as well so we must like it.
The evening of the day me, Anne and Karl went to Coogee Beach i went out for a chinese (yep went to china town...again!!) with Andrew and ended up going to a (ridiculously expensive!!!!) club called Home. It is supposed to be the best and biggest dance club in Sydney. It was ok but clubs in London r defo better!!
I took the ferry over to Manly beach with Sammy (one of my roomies) the next day as the girls wanted to go to the zoo, but i want to save myself for the infamous Steve Irwin Australia Zoo. I'm sure i would have liked Manly beach if if hadn't started to reain 20 mins after we got there...but we did manage to get some good shopping in (i love sales!). Manly reminds me little holiday resorts. Its very quaint.
On Saturday i went to the Aquarium with Andrew (i have been desperate to go for the last 2 weeks as apparently it is the number 1 attractcion in Sydney..it's not! I mean it's ok, but it's jus like all the other aquariums, except may be the sharks are a bit bigger. And i didn't even get to c a platypus, which is 1 of the only reasons i wanted to go. After that we went to Bronte beach for drinks and a bbq (altho we were too late for any food....Goon it is then!!).
Sorry, i don't think i have explained about goon yet. It is basically the word for very cheap box wine (only about $10, which is 4 pounds). It doesn't taste that bad and its not that strong but if u read the side of the box where it says ingredients u will realise y it is so cheap!
Sunday of course was New Years Eve!! We left to save our spots at the West Circular Quay part of the harbour at around 12.30pm with our picnics. The boys came to meet us there too. There were already lots of people there so we had to really work to keep our spaces. It was a proper covert operation, we even went back in teams to change into our party outfits so the others could save our spots (Me, Faye, Hayley, Dan and Belinda were team 1). And it all went a bit wrong at 1 point when there were only about 4 people trying to hold the fort (baring in mind we were trying to save close to 30 spaces!!). But it was all fun and games and we all managed to have at least little bit of space to sit in when the fireworks came.
And the fireworks were spectacular!!! The 9pm ones were good but the midnight ones were really amazing and i don't think i have the words to describe them so i am not even going to try. But they just seemed to be all around you! I don't think i have ever had such an amazing start to a new year before!!!
Most of us then went to Cargo's after that as we had bought tickets. Me and Faye left around 4 to go get a burger and then bed. And that was my new years!!
