Today (Friday) was a public holiday in Singapore, and the CBD is unbelivably quiet. Walking the 5 minutes to Raffles Place MRT, I probably only saw 10 vehicles that were not buses or taxis. I made my way over to the Botanic Gardens, with plenty of water and food in my bag! The gardens were very busy, so it is clearly where people go when they aren't working. The flight back to Singapore from Melbourne was very enjoyable - the cabin had been recently refurbished (we were the 3rd set of passengers to use it if I remember correctly). The food was incredibly tasty (again) for aeroplane food - and I am starting to rather like Qantas! I arrived at the apartment where I will be staying for the next month without any problems, and it is a pretty cool place. 45 floors up, right in the centre of the CBD, with some amaing views...

What an absolutely shocking waste of a day. All I have accomplished is knowing where the police station in terminal 2 is, and finding the best spots to stand in terminal 1 to get the best wifi signal. Had to get up to VJC to coach at the earlier time of 8.30 today, but I actually finished at 11.00, so that was nice; especially as it was a cooler morning (but still over 30 degrees and humid!).
