Dave’s Travel Blog
Didn't sleep too much last night worrying about our trip out of Semenkong. Guess I am just a worry wart because we made it to Matatiele to the tire shop and purchased a new tire. All is well now and my stomach has returned to a less knotted state. The tire guy was aghast that the tire had been fixed with a plug and was surprised we had made it. The drive down the new highway was great but very slow. I continue to be amazed at the little villages on the mountain slopes in the middle of nowhere in Lesotho. After going through the border we drove on a horrid road to Matatiele. After the tire was fixed,we started driving to the Drakensberg Mountains and have stopped for the night in Himeville, a very small town, but so beautiful. We had a wonderful drive with breathtaking scenery. We are in the state of Kwazulunatal. It is by far the most beautiful part of South Africa we have encountered. Will sleep well tonight and then off to see the Drakensberg Boys Choir tomorrow.
