Had a really long, but lovely walk today. The sun was lovely and shiny and warm, so it was probably the perfect day to have a nice coastal walk. It was a little too hot perhaps, but never mind :D
I almost gave up by the time I got to Clovelly Bay, but asked a couple where Coogee was and they said it wasn't far, so I trudged on.
I got the train to Bondi (only one stop from Edgecliff, or a half hour walk from Rose Bay and I thought I'd be walking a lot today) in the end as I went to the Post Office (how many times have I gone now?) in the morning and so had been faffing about. However, I also didn't want to do a coastal walk during the hottest part of the day, so I did faff about a bit on purpose!
Had a nice lunch whilst watching the surfers on Bondi. Got some good piccies of surfing too - so glad I brought that zoom lens with me for my camera! There were a few people posing around the beach, but I was mostly watching the surfers as there were loads of them in the water today! I doubt that I'll be able to stand up on the board if I'm able to get a lesson in when I go to Coffs Harbour, but it'll be fun trying to learn!
It took me a good couple of hours to get there in the end, as I did stop a fair bit on the way - watching surfers, and taking photos. I also passed through an absolutely huge cemetary - it stretched for ages and ages and such a prime position for a cemetary - right on the edge of the coast!
Also saw a few nice swimming pools on my way around, which seemed much more preferable than taking your chances in the sea with the surf and the sharks and the surfboards and the surfers!! Shame I didn't take the time to stop to have a dip in one of them as I really wanted to get to Coogee! It starts getting dark around 6:30pm or so now, so I wanted to get there before it started getting dark and cold!
It was a really nice walk, so I'm really glad that I got to do it. It did feel a bit endless in the sun, but I got to see lots of nice coast and sea and some cute surfers too!
