Luckily my cold hadn't taken over in the night, so I woke up not feeling too bad. Bit tired, but not like I had the flu or anything thankfully! So, I decided to go to the 70s street festival in The Rocks area in the end.
I didn't really know what to expect, but it was really good in the end. Quite a few people turned up in some sort of costume - mostly knee high boots, and some crazy 70s prints! A few ladies turned up in full on costumes - afro wigs, mini dresses, knee high boots or funky platform shoes - Davina - you'd even have been outdone!! There were even a few kids there, dressed up to the 70s nines :D
There was some 70s music from a band called 'That 70s Thang' who were actually pretty good. Played some Abba numbers of course, and some songs that I didn't recognise at all....perhaps they only came out over here, or perhaps they weren't all that popular at home, who knows? They also had a dancing competition, which was really hilarious. All sorts of people doing supposed 70s moves....really, really funny. They were giving pet rocks as prizes as well!! Hahahahahhahha!
There was also a really nice market on in The Rocks too, so I had a bit of a peruse around that.
I did intend to go to the Sydney Aquarium afterwards, but I felt really tired whilst waiting at the bus stop, so I ended up just coming back to the flat. Had a nice hot shower, got into my pyjamas, and then basically sat in bed really not wanting to do much but went through my photos and so on.
Obviously not all that well....
However, I thought that I'd feel better tomorrow after a nice long rest today and so I booked myself on the Opera House tour in the morning, and also booked myself a ticket for the Sydney Aquarium. The Aquarium tickets are valid for 6 months so even though I've booked it now, I don't have to go immediately which is really good. I also saved 20% on the ticket price on the Opera House tour, and 10% on the Aquarium - sweeeeeeet :D
Having also got an International Student Identity Card from my travel agent at home, means I also get student discounts too! Double sweeeeet. Having one of those on this trip has been amazingly useful :D
