We cut out Valencia so we could spend more time in La Bisbal and Madrid. Unfortunately this meant a long drive to Madrid. We made it ok, but what would be the best thing to encounter after 9 hours in the car? We were greeted with Madrid rush hour gridlock, demostration cutting off most streets and a GPS that went on strike. Stiff Mojitos were in order after that.

What a fantastic city! Again, we wish we had longer here. It´s hard to get used to the eating-late part, but we´ve done our best. We ate at the oldest restaurant in the Guinness Book of records. It was Michellin reviewed, so not as touristy as you might expect. The suckling pig was out of this world!

We visited the largest bullring they have here in the city. There were no bulls to be seen, but the history around the game was interesting. The bulls are always eaten at local restaurants - so at least their death isn´t completely in vain.

We have a 5 hour drive tomorrow to Lamego in Portugal.
