So the circus wasn't quite what we were expecting. Lots of animals doing things animals don't usually do. We left at half time - after the huge seals were climbing ladders (weird). There were photo opportunities before the circus started with leopards and bears, tigers with no teeth and bears that were so muzzled they couldn't even eat what their ring leaders were giving then to keep them happy. Depressing, Mr Putin should know better.
Moscow has been so interesting. So many random things have happened. Like yesterday we took a cab and the driver stopped in the middle of a main road at a police vechile - the police were holding a man but when our taxi driver approached they gave him papers and he seemed to give them money in return then we were on our way again. And last night we were just walking along and couldn't help but notice all the expensive cars parked along the street, surrounded by derelict warehouses then a big guy wired up to an ear piece started walking ahead of us. He was clearly there for a purpose. And phones in red square, desk phones where the dial piece has no dials so you can't make any out bound calls. And today a nice bit of Moscow - as we were buying our train tickets a lovely young girl thought we were struggling so jumped ahead of us and paid for our train tickets for us! So unneccesary but so sweet! We thought it was a scam but she pointed to our platform as she ran to catch her train.
We enjoyed a boat trip down the Moscow river this afternoon and dinner at our favourite cafe.
It's all been a bit strange but very enjoyable. We're off on the sleeper train to St Peterburg next. Exciting!
